6 Rohingyas die as boat capsize in Naf - National

Cox’s Bazar: Six Rohingya people, including four children, died as a boat carrying 18 capsized in the Naf river on Tuesday night.

The boat capsized in Jaliapara area of Shah Parir Dwip in Teknaf, said Sabrang union ward member Fazlul Haque said quoting witnesses.

At least six people managed to swim ashore, but the rest are still missing.

Locals first found bodies of two children around 11:00pm on Tuesday night. Around 7:00am Wednesday, they recovered bodies of a woman and a minor in Jaliapara area. Three hours later, bodies of another woman and a minor were found in Najirpara area.

Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station Main Uddin Khan confirmed recovery of the bodies.
