Munshiganj: Two women, including a shrine khadem, were found dead at a shrine at Bhitikandi village under Sadar upazila in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Tajel Khatun, 48 and Amena Begum, 60, a khadem of a shrine and hailed from Bakchar village under Sadar Upazila.

Shrine khadem Masud Khan discovered the bodies in the morning and informed police.

Confirming the news, Sadar thana officer in-charge Alamgir Hossain said, on information, police recovered the throat-slit bodies of the women.

“They might have been slaughtered sometime at night, around 9:30 pm.”
