Bodies of couple found in septic tank - Crime
A couple has been found dead at septic tank of their home at Gala union in Tangail Sadar on Thursday (July 27, 2017)

Tangail: A couple was found dead at septic tank of their home at village Rasulpur in Gala union under Tangail Sadar upazila on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as 65-year-old retired high school teacher Anil Chandra Das and his wife 55-year-old Kalpana Das.

On information, police recovered the bodies, said officer-in-charge of Tangail Police Station Nazmul Huque Bhuiyan.

Police said the couple’s only son, who works at a bank, lives in Dhaka.

“The neighbours started searching for them in the morning after not finding them at home. Around 12:00 noon, the bodies were found inside the septic tank.”

Later, police recovered the bodies with rope around their necks and legs tied with bricks, he said.

The police officer said they suspect that the couple were murdered some time during the night, possibly by men who barged into the house.

He, however, said further details will be available after investigation into the incident.
