Ailing actor A.K. Qureshi (Azizul Kader Qureshi) is lying on a bed at a hospital in Los Angeles of the United States.

Dhaka: Noted actor A.K. Qureshi (Azizul Kader Qureshi) has died. He was 80.

He died at a hospital in Los Angeles of the United States early Wednesday morning.

Qureshi left behind his two sons--Faisal Qureshi and Farhad Qureshi, daughter Kanta Qureshi, grandsons and grand-daughters, and a host of relatives, friends and well wishers to mourn his death.

Writer and film collector Mir Shamsul Alam Babu confimred the news of death of A.K. Qureshi through Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.

He is Qureshi's niece's husband.

Late Azizul Kader Qureshi was born on May 8, 1937. He was also known as sound editor. Besides, he was a founding member of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation.

He served as the Director of Foreign Programmes at Bangladesh Television.

Qureshi acted in more than 100 cinemas and dramas. He is popularly known as a judge among the audience of Bangla movies.

He, however, had been living along with his family in the United States with his children over the last several years.

He also worked in two episodes of popular Hollywood television serial 'The X-Files.'
